Speaking at the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Academy, said that a year ago, the unit and the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper – one of the pioneering Vietnamese newspapers in digital transformation and application of artificial intelligence, signed an agreement to train on AI. Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac was also pleased that the team of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has actively studied and applied AI in their professional work. At the same time, he expressed his desire to continue to accompany the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to continue promoting the application of AI in the development of digital journalism, thereby forming the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper media complex.

MSc. Dinh Duy Linh, Director of the Post and Telecommunications Training Center II, spoke at the seminar

Presenting a speech at the program, MSc. Dinh Duy Linh, Director of the Post and Telecommunications Training Center II (a unit under the Academy) emphasized that AI application will improve organizational/business performance and productivity, but there are many barriers to application. These are human resources, costs, adaptation between old and new personnel… “In that context, how to use and use AI effectively is a question that needs to be raised and answered” – MSc. Dinh Duy Linh raised the issue.

The solution proposed by MSc. Dinh Duy Linh is training in AI application skills. The training includes basic (understanding AI, Generative AI, thinking capabilities and limitations, and how to create effective prompts) and in-depth (marketing, sales; digital content creation; problem solving and thinking…). Train leaders first, employees later, leaders understand and set goals for employees. Along with that, focus on practical applications of AI in daily work; provide technical support and ongoing consulting after training.

Concluding the discussion, Journalist – Dr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, acknowledged the efforts between Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology in the past time. Although the training period was not long, it can be said that Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has applied AI very effectively with specific products. Not stopping there, the greater result is the huge change in the awareness of the team of reporters, editors, technicians and collaborators of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. Journalist – Dr. To Dinh Tuan, also emphasized that this is just the beginning: “We still have a long way to go to bring digital transformation into the field of journalism. Obviously, the path ahead for world journalism and Vietnamese journalism is to apply AI for development, but realizing it is not simple”.

Also within the framework of the discussion program, a signing ceremony took place between the editorial office of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the Post and Telecommunications Training Center II to realize the signed minutes. Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology signed a cooperation agreement in training and digital transformation of journalism. After signing, the two units implemented the training program “Application of AI in digital journalism content creation”, including 2 courses taking place from March 22 to June 19 for more than 120 students at the headquarters and representative offices across the country. After the course, students applied AI to process text to produce news, articles in text format, podcasts; synthesize and analyze data to create infographics, charts; produce short videos/clips; create illustrations for both print and electronic newspapers – a new, richer and more vivid form.
