Mr. Marc Woo – Managing Director, in charge of Vietnam, Google Asia – Pacific, pointed out three impacts of AI on life including improving labor productivity, increasing customer experience, promoting personalization… and affirmed that “the way people work will change”.

At the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day (AI4VN) 2024, on the afternoon of August 23, Mr. Marc Woo presented a speech on the topic “Opportunities from artificial intelligence”. The Google manager commented that Vietnam is at the “crossroads” of the AI revolution and is quickly grasping the applications of AI in life.

To start the presentation, Mr. Marc talked about the 8-decade development process of AI. Over the past 10 years, Google has also incorporated AI into most of its products. Currently, notifications on Email, spelling correction in Google Doc or video suggestions on Youtube all apply AI.

Throughout the history of development, the world has had many technology trends and the future is also waiting for the next revolutions. “I believe AI is one of the next waves,” he affirmed.

The AI wave, according to Mr. Marc, will lead to three impacts. The first is to improve and enhance labor productivity. IT, sales, marketing, human resources… can all use artificial intelligence to cut costs and increase efficiency. According to a study, about 62% of employees spend 30 minutes searching for solutions on Google.

For example, in a large enterprise with about 2,000 developers, if they know how to take advantage of AI to code, suggest, and check those lines of code. Each person saves 1 hour, the company can spend a lot of time.

Or in marketing, AI helps them create better content, bringing information to the right target audience. Currently, GoogleAds has done that, but in the future it can be expanded to the image warehouse with the support of GenAI. Thus, AI not only helps them save time or words but also helps process customer needs faster.

“This is one of the factors that will change the way we work in the next 10-20 years,” he stressed.
